COBRAE STATUTES The COmposites BRidge Alliance Europe (COBRAE) is an International Association of individuals and companies whose mission is to promote the research, development, standardisation and application of fibre reinforced polymer composites in rehabilitation, upgrade and new build bridge constructions and infrastructure applications. COBRAE is an unincorporated association. COBRAE is largely, but not specifically, an organisation whose focus is on Europe. COBRAE is a non-profit making composite bridge technology interest organisation governed by an elected Executive Council. The aim of COBRAE is to provide a platform for interaction between the bridge construction industry,the fibre reinforced polymer composites industry, research institutes and the owners of bridges and research/educational institutes, which can aid in the responsible use of fibre reinforced polymer composites in bridge construction. This aim will be achieved by the provision of educational and technical material for dissemination in the construction industry, by working with industry professionals to assist in the establishment of industry codes and specifications, and by promoting the use of quality fibre reinforced polymer composites products in bridge constructions. COBRAE Membership is open to individuals and companies with an interest in the use of composites in bridge constructions. There is no geographical restriction in terms of the Members Registered place of business. Meetings will be held twice or three times a year, and endeavour to attract as many industry professionals as possible by coinciding with major industry events. A working group will be elected to research what the bridge construction industry is seeking from composites, what the deficiencies are, and what needs to be done to bridge the gap. The Association will seek to contribute towards the establishment of Industry Standards by the formation of a working group, and the provision of members to sit on Standards Committees. An Executive Director is appointed by the Executive Council to run the daily business. A Treasurer elected by the Membership will manage Group Finances. Membership Fees will be recommended by the Executive Council and decided by the Annual Members Meeting. All Members pay an equal fee. New Members pay a once of joining fee. The fee structure is subject to approval by the membership. All communication will take place through E-mail and via the COBRAE website. Publicity will be done by means of a free to subscription web based Newsletter and through the COBRAE website. COBRAE MISSION COBRAE mission is to promote the research, development, standardisation and application of fibre reinforced polymer composites in rehabilitation, upgrade and new build bridge constructions and infrastructure applications. EXECUTIVE COUNCIL For the duration of the un-incorporated organization COBRAE will be governed by an ExecutiveCouncil consisting of 7 persons, made up as can be seen under the button Executive Committee. |
